Should I be concerned with a mole that started itching 21. June 2017

That is a great question! In short, yes, itching moles should always be evaluated. In the majority of cases, itching moles ultimately end up being of no concern, but cancerous or atypical changes in moles do often present with the symptom of itch. We would be happy to take a look at your mole. You can call our office to set up an appointment in Knoxville or Lenoir City at 865-450-9361. Our Knoxville office is located at 6516 Kingston Pike on Bearden Hill.

I recently had a mole removed from my knee area. The numbing shot seems to have affected the fluid in my knee; it’s somewhat stiff, and there is pressure each time I bend my knee. It also makes a clicking sound when I walk up stairs–will the fluids settle out eventually on their own? 21. June 2017

Good evening! Recent surgical procedures and numbing associated with these can result in swelling; however, we should take a look at this at your earliest convenience to make sure it is nothing concerning. My dermatologist said I have folliculitis on my scalp. Will laser hair removal help? 1. June 2017

Thanks for posting a question!  Folliculitis on the scalp is a common, yet often bothersome, problem.  We find that the best way to treat folliculitis is often with medications.  These range from topical medications to oral ones.  The scalp can be a tricky location to perform laser hair removal, which is permanent.  The best next step would be to come in to have a personalized evaluation.  We have an office in Knoxville (Bearden Hill) and one in Lenoir City.  Please give us a call to schedule your appointment.  865-450-9361

Can I remove skin tags 1. June 2017

Thank you for reaching out to us. Skin tags can certainly be a nuisance! OTC remedies are often not very effective in permanently removing skin tags. However, there are certain modalities that can be utilized to safely and cleanly remove skin tags.  The distinction between a skin tag and other skin lesions, both benign and malignant, is an important one. Although skin tags can be removed at home, I would first recommend evaluation by a physician before doing so to make sure those lesions are, in fact, benign and safe to be removed. We are always happy to help. You can call our office to set up an appointment in Knoxville or Lenoir City at 865-450-9361. Our Knoxville office is located at 6516 Kingston Pike on Bearden Hill across the street from Calhoun’s Restaurant.
